Ancestor Reports, Family Tree Summaries & Charts

When you have compiled sufficient Family History data, you will need to present the information in an understandable and attractive format. The conventional way that professional genealogists do this is to firstly prepare a Family Tree chart identifying all the family members or a particular branch of the family in the case of large families.

The chart acts as the viewers map, indicating the relationship links over each generation. Additional information such as birth and death dates can be added to the chart as necessary. Too much data can confuse the reader, so it is preferable to produce separate text reports detailing the descendancy or ancestry of any specific names in the Family Tree. Then it is possible to add all your known facts about each person in writing at the appropriate reference point of these Ancestor or Descendant Reports. It’s also appealing to copy photographs, extracts of your verifying documents or informative notes about the history of the relevant era into your Family History reports.

With the aid of highly sophisticated computer software programs, Irish Ancestry Research offers to compile your reports, summaries and charts on your behalf. We give you the choice to select just a few plain pages listing key data right through to requesting a colourful and full family history booklet complete with photos, charts and personal family statistics, should you so desire. All our reporting templates can be issued speedily via e-mail as attachments, or we can produce high quality printed copies of reports and laminated charts for despatch by post. The choices are yours, to suit your individual budget.

Some people prefer to summarise their genealogy research findings in their own unique ways. This option is okay if you only want to share your reports and charts with selected family members and keep your research private. However, both amateur and professional genealogists across the globe are encouraged to consider publishing their Family History records in fairly standardized layouts. Irish Ancestry Research only uses recognised reporting formats.

Charts and reports can be easily uploaded to websites which specialise in archiving Family Trees. The publisher (i.e. you) can specify whether open public access to view your family records is granted, or alternatively you can demand that someone with an interest in a name featuring in your Family Tree must seek your permission before being allowed to review the background detail of your ancestral research. You may have personal reasons for choosing the restricted access option, and your wishes will always be respected by compassionate members of the genealogy fraternity.

Irish Ancestry Research is obliged to support eventual publication of newly compiled Family Histories. Our reasoning is simple. By co-operating with each other, ancestry researchers can make more and more research material available in the public domain. In future years, the next generations of our families will hopefully be able to trace their ancestors with considerable ease by referring to our findings of today. The statement “we’re all related to each other if you go back in time far enough” is quite true, so why not contribute to the worldwide compilation of thousands of interlinked Family Trees.

We can assist with publication of your Family History to the appropriate organisations. However, the instructions of any client choosing the total privacy option will always be honoured by Irish Ancestry Research, and we will not redistribute any personal or ancestral information without your express written consent.
